 How to Apply
To be considered for a position, your application must be in response to an active posting and be submitted through our Careers Page.  We do not accept unsolicited resumes. 

Submitting an application:

  • If you are applying as an external applicant, you must make an account through our Career Page. When creating this account, please use an email address that you check regularly, as this is where your invitation will be sent to if you are chosen to participate in the selection process.
  • Once an account is created, you can return to the main Career Page and review our career opportunities.
  • Select the position you are interested in applying for and ensure that you review all necessary career details.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the posting and click “Apply Now”; you may be required to sign back into your account.
  • Upload a copy of your cover letter and up-to-date resume. These must be updated as one (1) document and as either a .doc or .pdf format. Your cover letter and resume should clearly outline how you meet the requirements of the position.
  • Answer any “Job Questions” honestly and to the best of your ability. Applicants found to be lying on “Job Questions” will be disqualified from the selection process.
  • Once you are happy with your application, hit the submit bottom. You should see a screen that notifies you your application has been received, as well as receive a confirmation email.

 The Selection Process
All applicants chosen to participate in the selection process will be notified via the email used to set up your Career Page account; we recommend using an account that is checked regularly.

All invitations will be sent from the email domain “@ptbocounty.ca”; we recommend “favouriting” or marking this as a “safe sender” to avoid your invitation going to junk mail.

If chosen to participate in the selection process, you may take part in various stages including:

  • Technical skills testing or a pre-interview assignment
  • One or more panel interview(s) with two or more members of the hiring team
  • A minimum of three references, management/supervisory employment references are required
  • Satisfactory completion of a Police Record Check
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination
