Winter Maintenance Operator Job Fair

Peterborough County is hosting a Winter Maintenance Operator Job Fair on August 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Best Western Hotel in Peterborough to connect prospective candidates with seasonal winter operations career opportunities. 

The event will provide information about Seasonal Winter Maintenance Operator positions, including training and licensing requirements, compensation, schedules, and the recruitment process. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with current employees and hiring representatives and learn more about the important role winter maintenance operators play in keeping County roads safe during the winter season. 

Elections

Municipal elections are held at the local Township level. Please check your local Township website for information specific to your area.

Municipal elections are held every 4 years on the fourth Monday in October. The next municipal election will take place on Monday, October 26, 2026.

If you're considering running for Mayor or Deputy Mayor of your township, you will sit on County Council. 

Mandatory Orientation Dates

For individuals running for Mayor or Deputy Mayor, upon election, you will be expected to attend two full-day orientation sessions in Douro on Monday, November 9th and Tuesday, November 24th, 2026.
