Peterborough County's Waste Management Master Plan (WMMP) is a tool for the County to use in the development of waste management policies, guidelines, and best practices for both short and long term planning.
The goals and objectives of the WMMP are to:
- Optimize Waste Management
- Implement Best Practices for Waste Management
- Expand Outreach for Waste Management
Updated Waste Management Master Plan - 2024
With the support of the team at Cambium Inc., Peterborough County has started the process of updating our Waste Management Master Plan to be current with new legislation and principles, including the extended producer responsibility programs and circular economy. The new WMMP will aim to improve existing waste services and systems, and conserve landfill space.
