Winter Maintenance Operator Job Fair

Peterborough County is hosting a Winter Maintenance Operator Job Fair on August 22, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Best Western Hotel in Peterborough to connect prospective candidates with seasonal winter operations career opportunities. 

The event will provide information about Seasonal Winter Maintenance Operator positions, including training and licensing requirements, compensation, schedules, and the recruitment process. 

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with current employees and hiring representatives and learn more about the important role winter maintenance operators play in keeping County roads safe during the winter season. 

Pre-Consultation

A new Official Plan for Peterborough County is in effect. The Province of Ontario, through the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, issued a Notice of Decision on August 5, 2026, approving, with modifications, the new Peterborough County Official Plan. The new Official Plan is in effect as of August 4, 2026. 

Policies of the new Official Plan will be applied to all Planning Act applications submitted on or after August 4, 2026. Please contact the Planning Department (planning@ptbocounty.ca) directly to determine how, or if, these changes affect your proposal.

Before you submit an application to amend the County Official Plan, or an application for a plan of subdivision or condominium, it is highly recommended that you meet with us to discuss the proposal.  To set up a pre-consultation meeting please fill out our Pre-Consultation Request Form and submit it to the Planning Department as indicated on the last page of the form.
