Adopt a Road
The Adopt-A-Road program offers businesses, service groups, and organizations an opportunity to help clean and beautify our County roads while giving back to the community.
How to Participate (New and Existing groups):
1. Choose a Representative: Select a group representative to manage the program.
2. Pick a Section of Road: Adopt a County road section, at least 2 km long, and commit to cleaning it twice annually (spring and fall).
3. Submit an Application: The group representative must fill out the application form on our website for each clean-up.
4. Review & Confirmation: County staff will review the application and contact the representative to finalize details, schedule the first clean-up, and provide necessary materials:
· Adopt-A-Road Agreement (first clean up only),
· Fill out the Equipment Sign Out form
· Pick up supplies: the List of Participants form, Material Recovery Report, Waste Site Access Card, safety equipment, and bags.
5. Clean-Up Day: Participants will sign the List of Participants form and follow safety guidelines. Cleaned litter should be separated for recycling when possible and placed in provided bags.
6. Disposal: Participants will take the collected litter to a County Waste Transfer Station as identified on the application form using the Waste Site Access Card for free disposal.
7. Return Equipment: After each clean-up, the group representative will return safety equipment, Material Recovery Report, and the signed List of Participants form to County staff.
8. Recognition of your Group: County staff will install two signs, at each end of the adopted road section, recognizing your group’s contribution to keeping our community clean and protecting our environment.
We invite you to join and make a positive impact on our community! Get started today by filling out the application form!
