Parking in Peterborough County is regulated under the Parking Regulation By-law No. 2023-26.

The Parking Regulation By-law is in full effect and will be enforced by officers of Peterborough County and/or The City of Peterborough.

Within the by-law is an Administrative Penalties System which will be enforced, under that system, by the City of Peterborough. The payment methods, or hearing options, will be laid out on the back of the parking ticket.

The County and City have the authority in this by-law to remove illegally parked vehicles.

During the winter months, from 11:00 pm and 7:00 am, between the 15th day of October to the 15th day of May, inclusive. Parking overnight on County roads is prohibited to allow for winter maintenance operations.

Parking Restriction Violation Warnings will be issued to those parking on County roads during this time; repeat offenders will be towed at the owner's expense.
