Please be advised that the County of Peterborough is proceeding with road rehabilitation works on Lakehurst Road (County Road 37), from 400 metres south of Fire Route 70 to 700 metres west of Allen’s Road, in the Municipality of Trent Lakes. Work will consist of culvert replacements, ditching, asphalt removal and replacement, partially paved shoulders, and new pavement markings.

The County’s contractor, Coco Paving Inc., will start work the week of June 7, and is expected to complete the work by September 30. Please note that unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Daily lane restrictions will be required for the duration of the project in order to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner. Drivers should expect delays within the construction limits.

The County realizes that the construction work will be disruptive and will complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise additional caution for pedestrian, cyclist, and construction worker safety.

Notice of Road Closure - County Road 40

Please be advised that emergency work of the Canadian Pacific Railway tracks crossing County Road 40 will commence on Monday, May 31st, 2021, from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

County Road 40, between Helen Street and Wellington Street, will be closed during these
construction activities.

Notice of Bridge Closure - Gannon’s Narrows Bridge

Daily Bridge Closures – June 7 to June 30, 2021

Please be advised that repairs to damaged structure components at the Gannon’s Narrows Bridge located on County Road 16 will be commencing on June 7 to June 30, 2021.

During this period, the bridge will be completely closed to all traffic from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and reopened to traffic at night and on weekends.

The bridge is closed to all traffic including pedestrian traffic.  During the designated hours, this is a construction site registered with the Ministry of Labour with conditions not safe for the general public and is subject to the Occupational Health and Safety Act On.t Regulation 213/91 for construction projects.

Notice of Construction - Peter's Island Bridge - Bridge Closure May 17-21

Please be advised that Peter’s Island Bridge, located on Peter’s Island Road (Crystal Lake), will be closed to traffic for the following periods:

Monday May 17 – May 21, 2021 - daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday, May 19, 2021 – overnight from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.

The purpose of the closure is to allow for the completion of remaining work at the bridge including the installation of deck waterproofing and
asphalt paving.

Access for emergency service vehicles will be accommodated by the contractor.

Road Widening of Ski Hill Road (County Rd. 7)

Please be advised that the County of Peterborough is proceeding with road widening works on Ski Hill Road (County Road 7), from 200 metres
south of Hogsback Road to 370 metres north of Hogsback Road. Work will consist of ditching, road widening, asphalt paving, and new
pavement markings.

Contractor, Hard-Co Construction Ltd., will start work the week of May 10, and is expected to complete the work by August 13, 2021.
Please note that unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Daily lane restrictions will be required for the duration of the project in order to complete the work in a safe and efficient manner.
Drivers should expect delays within the construction limits during the project.

Update - Notice of Closure Crowe River Bridge

Please be advised that County Road (CR) 504, from CR 620 to Glen Alda Road, will remain closed to all through traffic until December 2021. Access for local traffic on CR 504 will be maintained.

The purpose of the closure is to permit the continued investigation into the condition of the Crowe River Bridge. The Crowe River Bridge is located on CR 504 within the Township of North Kawartha approximately 2.0 km south of CR 620 (Glen Alda) and approximately 0.2 km north of Glen Alda Road.

An alternative detour route during this road closure will be signed in the field as shown below.

The County of Peterborough completely understands the impact that this closure has had on residents. The Crowe River Bridge closure situation involves many parties and the County has been working with such parties to assess the issues associated with the bridge. We understand the importance of getting a bridge in place and open to traffic. However, resolving this complex issue takes time. We are hopeful that we will have a clearer understanding of next steps and the timelines within the next few weeks. As soon as the County has a path forward we are committed to keeping you updated.

Notice of Construction for the Lower Buckhorn Lake Bridge And the Trent Canal Bridge

Please be advised that construction activities for the Lower Buckhorn Lake Bridge (Township of Selwyn) and the Trent Canal Bridge (Municipality of Trent Lakes) both located on County Road 23 approximately 500 meters southeast of County Road 36 within the settlement area of Buckhorn in the County of Peterborough will commence April 19th, 2021 with tentative completion by May 21st, 2021.

During the remaining bridge works, one lane will be open at all times under daily flagging and/or temporary signal operations with both lanes open prior to closing down operations each day.

Selwyn Stormsewer Cleaning and CCTV Video Inspection

Please be advised that storm sewer flushing and CCTV video inspection will completed within the Township of Selwyn. The work will be

conducted on various Township and County roads within the following communities: Lakefield, Bridgenorth, Ennismore, Woodland Acres, and
Youngs Point.

Work will also be completed on County Road 18 from County Road 19 to County Road 1, and Lakefield Road from Woodland Drive to 
Smith 8th Line.

Work will commence in the listed communities during the week of March 29, 2021, with a duration of approximately 45 days.

The subject streets will remain open with temporary traffic control operations.

The Project:

The County of Peterborough (County) together with their Consultant, D. M. Wills Associates Ltd. (Wills), is undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to complete intersection enhancements at County Road 18 (Chemong Road) and Fifth Line. Enhancements are to include the addition of a southbound left turn lane on County Rd 18. The study area is generally outlined in Figure 1.Figure 1–Study Area

The Process:

This study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of a Schedule A+ of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) document, Municipal Class Environmental Assessment, October 2000, as amended in 2007. Schedule A+ projects are pre-approved, however, the public is to be advised prior to project implementation.

Public Consultation:

Throughout the study, the County and Wills shall consult with the required agencies and advise members of the community of the project plans. Members of the project team (contact details provided below) are available to answer questions regarding the project. Please be advised that the rehabilitation of County Road 4, within the Township of Douro-Dummer from McNab Avenue easterly approximately

3.5 km will tentatively commence the week of July 15th, 2020 with a duration of approximately seven (7) weeks. This rehabilitation will include

pulverization, restoration of cross fall, full depth expanded, hot mix asphalt paving, intersection redesign of County Road 41

(locally known as University Road) at County Road 4 and cross culvert replacement.

 

County Road 4 will remain open throughout the duration of the rehabilitation with temporary day time flagging operations. Please note that the
