Update - Notice of Closure Crowe River Bridge |
||
Please be advised that County Road (CR) 504, from CR 620 to Glen Alda Road, will remain closed to all through traffic until the fall of 2022. Access for local traffic on CR 504 will be maintained. The investigation into the condition of the bridge superstructure that is currently in place has been completed and it has been determined that the superstructure does not meet requirements for highway traffic loading. The County is in the process of finalizing arrangements which would permit the installation of a redesigned bridge to commence in the spring of 2022, with an anticipated completion date of the fall of 2022. An alternative detour route during this road closure will be signed in the field as shown below.
The County of Peterborough completely understands the impact that this closure has had on residents. The Crowe River Bridge closure situation involves many parties and the County has been working with such parties to assess the issues associated with the bridge. We understand the importance of getting a bridge in place and open to traffic. Resolving this complex issue has taken a significant amount of time. We have developed a clearer understanding of next steps and timelines and are committed to completing the full replacement of the Crowe River Bridge. We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, please contact the following individuals: Peter Nielsen, C.E.T.
