Peterborough County Is Now Using Alertable to Help Residents Stay Informed and Prepared

Peterborough County, ON – Peterborough County is now using Alertable, a free public notification service that provides timely emergency alerts and important community notifications directly to residents, businesses, and visitors.

Alertable gives people another way to receive important information when it matters most – helping them stay informed, make informed decisions, and be better prepared for emergencies and significant events.

“Keeping residents informed is a key part of emergency preparedness and community safety,” said Warden Bonnie Clark. “Alertable provides another reliable and accessible way for people to receive important information quickly and stay connected to the communities that matter most to them.”

Choose how you receive notifications

Alertable offers several ways to receive notifications, including:

• SMS text messages
• Email notifications
• Automated phone calls
• Mobile app notifications

No mobile app is required. People can choose the notification methods that work best for them.

Follow the places that matter to you

Alertable allows users to follow multiple locations, making it useful for more than just their home address. Users can choose locations such as:

• Home
• Workplace
• Cottage or seasonal property
• Communities where family and friends live
• Other locations they visit regularly

Users can also customize the types of notifications they receive by category and severity, ensuring they receive information relevant to their needs.

The Alertable mobile app is available for those who want convenient access to notifications on their mobile device, but downloading the app is not required.

Alertable is Canadian-made and free for the public to use.
