Notice of Complete Application Concerning Proposed Official Plan Amendment File #15OP-26008

Take notice that the Corporation of the County of Peterborough has received an application for an Official Plan Amendment for certain lands situated in Lot 1, Concession 11, Dummer Ward, Township of Douro-Dummer, and that the County of Peterborough considers it to be a complete application in accordance with Section 22(6.4) of the Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, as amended. The application has been assigned file number 15OP-26008.

Public Meeting

A Public Meeting concerning this application has not yet been scheduled. Such a meeting will be scheduled following the completion of the peer review of the supporting documents/studies/plans. A notice will be provided in due course advising the date, time and location of the public meeting.

A Key Map is below indicating the location of the lands to which the proposed amendments apply.

Purpose and Effect of the Application

The Official Plan currently designates these lands as “Employment”. Given that the current land use designation does not recognize the proposed development, the Official Plan Amendment will have the effect of adding a Site Specific Policy that permits aggregate extraction on the subject lands in addition to those uses permitted within the “Employment” designation.

The Right to Appeal

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the County of Peterborough to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough before the proposed Official Plan Amendment is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
