Holiday Magic Shop To Win Encourages Residents to Shop Local and Support Peterborough County Businesses
Peterborough County, ON – This holiday season, every local purchase can help strengthen the businesses that make our communities vibrant. Peterborough County Economic Development is launching the 2026 Holiday Magic Shop-To-Win campaign, a county-wide initiative designed to encourage residents and visitors to support local businesses, keep spending close to home, and celebrate the entrepreneurs, retailers, restaurants, and independent operators who contribute to the local economy year-round.
From unique gifts and handcrafted items to festive meals, seasonal treats and local experiences, the campaign highlights the importance of choosing local during one of the busiest shopping seasons of the year.
As an added incentive, every purchase made at a participating business earns shoppers a ballot for a chance to win weekly gift card prizes and a grand prize package of $1,500 in local gift cards.
"Small businesses are the heart of our communities. They create jobs, sponsor local events, support community organizations and help define the character of our downtowns and villages," said Warden Bonnie Clark. The Holiday Magic Shop-To-Win campaign is a fun way to encourage residents to shop locally while demonstrating how much our community values and supports local businesses."

Every dollar spent locally helps support jobs, entrepreneurs and community prosperity. Holiday Magic Shop-To-Win reminds residents that where they choose to shop during the holiday season has a direct impact on the strength and resilience of local businesses throughout Peterborough County.
By supporting local retailers, restaurants, attractions and service providers, shoppers help ensure independent businesses continue to thrive long after the holiday season is over.
How It Works
Shoppers simply visit participating businesses during the campaign period and make a purchase. Every purchase qualifies for a ballot entry for a chance to win:
- Scan a QR code to obtain an online ballot, fill out the ballot, take a picture of your receipt (no minimum spending limit), upload it and hit submit.
- Weekly gift card prizes beginning November 16, 2026.
- The grand prize of $1,500 in local gift cards.
No points to collect. No minimum spending threshold. Every qualifying purchase helps support a local business and provides an opportunity to win.
