Flood Watch Issued

Flood Watch Issued for local watercourses within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation, excluding the Trent-Severn Waterway.

Significant rain showers and warmer temperatures starting Friday, March 6, to Wednesday, March 11, may cause:

  • Rapidly increasing water levels and flows, creating the potential for flooding
  • Overland flow and ponding of water on roads, in low-lying areas and locations with poor drainage
  • Weakening ice cover and possible breakup. 

Residents along the shores of local watercourses, especially those located in low-lying areas, are strongly encouraged to watch for increasing water levels, and take action to limit or prevent damage in case of flooding.

Reduced Loads on County Roads

Reduced Load Restrictions Begin Monday, March 2, 2026

 

The following County Roads, or a portion thereof, will be emplaced under restriction:
County Roads 4, 7, 8, 11, 25, 26, 31, 32, 33, 38, 44, 46, 47, 48, 50, 52, 54, 56, 504 and 507

 

Vehicles exceeding the 5-tonne per axle load restriction must take alternate routes or will be subject to penalties described in the Highway Traffic Act.⁠
