Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued an Orange Heat Warning for our region. From Tuesday, June 30 – Friday, July 3, daytime highs may reach 36°C with humidex values in the mid‑40s.
Stay safe during extreme heat by:
-
Drinking water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty
-
Limiting outdoor activities to cooler parts of the day (early morning or late evening)
-
Checking in on neighbours, family members, and friends who may be at greater risk
-
Keeping your home cooler by closing curtains and blinds during the day
-
Call Health811 (dial 811) if you begin to feel unwell
If you are seeking relief from the heat, air-conditioned public spaces such as libraries and community centres can be accessed during operating hours. Please reach out to your local municipality for further information on available cooling locations. For Township contact information, visit
