Notice of Complete Application for Approval of Official Plan Amendment

Take notice that the Corporation of the County of Peterborough has received a complete application for an Official Plan Amendment in accordance with Section 22(6.4) of the Planning Act.  The application has been assigned file number 15OP-25009.

Location

A key map is attached which indicates the location of the lands which are subject to the application.  The lands are located in Part of Lots 23, 24, 25, Concessions 15 & 16 Burleigh Ward, Township of North Kawartha, and are known municipally as 198 Jack Lake Road.

Purpose and Effect of the Application

The purpose of the application is to amend the severance provisions in the Official Plan in order to facilitate the creation of two new lots by consent (severance). The property presently meets the maximum number of permitted lots based on current Official Plan policy (S.6.1.1(ii)). The site is designated Settlement Area and Rural Area in the County of Peterborough Official Plan.

The County is also in receipt of three consent applications (B-58-25, B-59-25, B-60-25) to permit two new lots and a lot addition.                                                                                                                                     

The Right to Appeal

If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the County of Peterborough to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough before the proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough before the proposed official plan is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. 

A Public Meeting concerning this application has not yet been scheduled.  Such meeting will be scheduled following the completion of the peer review of the supporting documents / studies / plans.  A notice will be provided in due course advising the date, time and location of the public meeting.
