Welcome to The Local Advantage - With Peterborough County!
The Local Advantage is a new event series hosted by Peterborough County's Economic Development and Tourism teams, a monthly drop-in program designed to link local businesses and entrepreneurs across the region with valuable resources and networking opportunities to grow their business.
Kickoff Session Details

- Time: 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM
- Location: Asphodel Norwood Community Centre, 88 Alma Street, Norwood
The first session will feature an open house format, offering attendees a chance to:
- Meet Peterborough County’s Economic Development and Tourism team
- Meet representatives from Community Futures Peterborough (Business Advisory Centre) and the Peterborough & Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce.
- Discover programs, services, and resources available to support local business growth.
- Network with other business owners and entrepreneurs in the area.
This introductory session is designed to spark interest and set the stage for future events. No registration is required—just drop in and explore what your community has to offer!

The Local Advantage series is part of Peterborough County’s broader “hub and spoke” model, which provides accessible, comprehensive support to businesses throughout Peterborough County. At the center of this initiative is Peterborough County’s Information Hub in Lakefield, which acts as a central resource, bringing together expertise from Tourism, Economic Development, Community Futures Peterborough, and the Peterborough and Kawarthas Chamber of Commerce. The Local Advantage seriesrepresentsa ‘spoke’ — designed to ensure businesses in all areas of Peterborough County benefit from the same high level of support.
