The County is initiating a review of Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) use on County roads. This review is being completed in parallel with the County’s Transportation Master Plan (TMP) Update to help identify opportunities to support safe ORV use.

The County has a by-law to regulate the operation of Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs) on highways and roadways within our jurisdiction. This by-law is reviewed and, if required, updated every 2 years.

The by-law sets out the requirements of roadways for consideration of ORV travel, speed limit, equipment requirements, exhaust system, times of operation, prohibited lands, requirements of ORV operators, travel direction, exemptions and consequences of by-law contravention. Schedule A lists the sections of road where ORVs are permitted.
