Final Phase: James A. Gifford Causeway Construction Set to Begin

Posted on Friday May 03, 2024

Peterborough County is excited to announce the commencement of the final phase of construction on the James A. Gifford Causeway in Selwyn Township. Phase 2, which encompasses vital repairs to the bridge portion, is scheduled to commence the week of May 6th, 2024.

The County is pleased to inform residents and visitors that despite the ongoing construction, the bridge and the road will remain open throughout the project duration. While we expect delays, we anticipate delays may be reduced in comparison to previous phases as we remain committed to minimizing disruptions as much as possible. Completion is expected by November 2024.

We would like to reminder residents and visitors that your favorite businesses in Bridgenorth and Ennismore are ready to serve you with rural charm; and where every visit feels like coming home! As part of our commitment to supporting local businesses, we encourage everyone to continue shop local during this time.
