Notice of Complete Application and Public Meeting for Official Plan Amendment

The County of Peterborough has received a complete application for an Official Plan Amendment in accordance with Section 22(6.4) of the Planning Act.  The application has been assigned file number 15OP-22002.

Location
A key map is attached which indicates the location of the lands which are subject to the application. The lands are located at Part Lot 19, Concession 8 (Asphodel Ward) in the Township of Asphodel-Norwood, having the municipal address of 44 Albine Street.

Purpose and Effect of the Application
The proposed Official Plan amendment application would amend the Residential designation on the subject lands to facilitate the creation of a new residential lot by consent (severance). The R1 zoning on the property currently permits a single-detached dwelling.

Statutory Public Meeting Information
The Township of Asphodel-Norwood will hold a Public Meeting on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. to consider the proposed Official Plan Amendment under Section 17 of The Planning Act, R.S.O., 1990, as amended.

Any person may attend the public meeting and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed amendments.  Inquiries and written submissions concerning the applications can be made to the County of Peterborough Planning Department or to the Township of Asphodel-Norwood.  (This will be an in-person council public meeting)

 

The Right to Appeal
If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough in respect of the proposed Official Plan Amendment before the approval authorities give or refuse to give approval to the Official Plan Amendment, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the approval authority to the Ontario Land Tribunal.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the County of Peterborough in respect of the proposed Official Plan Amendment before the approval authorities make a decision regarding the amendments, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
