Nursing Week - May 8th to 14th, 2023

Whereas May 8th-14th, 2023 is National Nursing Week in Canada, and

Whereas nurses serve the residents of Peterborough County with professionalism, expertise, integrity, and dedication, and

Whereas nurses help the residents of Peterborough County to heal, recover, and stay healthy in their communities, and

Whereas this month provides an opportunity to recognize the vital role that nurses perform in our healthcare system and in our society, and

Whereas this month provides an opportunity to promote and encourage vocations to the nursing profession to ensure that the essential work that nurses provide to our communities continues into the future.

Therefore I, Warden Bonnie Clark, do hereby proclaim the week of May 8th to 14th 2023 as “Nursing Week” in Peterborough County, and encourage all residents and visitors to thank a nurse this week, to learn more about the nursing profession, and to promote the nursing profession to all who may consider it as a career.
